Raspberry, Joan J Everbearing Raspberry

Joan J Everbearing Raspberry is a bushy deciduous shrub with thornless canes primarily grown for its fruit.  There are two main flushes of small white flowers that give way to the large ruby pink berries with a rich sweet-tangy flavor in mid summer and again in late summer until frost.  Grows best in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Joan J is self-fruiting and has excellent disease resistance.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance.  Intolerant of wet soils- can lead to root rot.  Prune fruiting canes and weak canes immediately after fruiting, and as needed in winter.  Remove suckers and trimmings to prevent rooting.  Anthracnose, botrytis and root rot can be serious problems.  Cane and crown borers are potential serious pests.
